“General Hospital” saiu como vencedor da noite vencedo dos 51º Daytime Emmy Awards anuais, ganhando quatro prêmios – incluindo o o prêmio de melhor drama diurno pelo quarto ano consecutivo.
“GH” assumiu a liderança no início do processo, incluindo a escrita, direção e atuação de ator coadjuvante em uma série dramática diurna (Robert Gossett como Marshall Ashford). Ao aceitar a honra de dirigir um drama diurno, a equipe do show prestou homenagem a Johnny Wactor, o ex-artista de “GH” que morreu recentemente.
Além de Gossett de “GH”, os prêmios de atuação diurna foram distribuídos entre vários programas, com “The Young and the Restless” da CBS ganhando dois – de atriz principal (Michelle Stafford como Phyllis Summers) e atriz coadjuvante (Courtney Hope como Sally Spectra) . “The Bold and the Beautiful” da CBS ganhou o ator de drama para Thorsten Kaye como Ridge Forrester, que também venceu no ano passado.
